Job description

We are an emerging startup and our core product is a social media platform designed to connect organization administrators to their members or users. Much of the groundwork has been completed, so we are looking to grow our founding team and bring in others to continue the development of the product.

We are seeking a talented Head of Sales & Marketing to join our team. As the head, you will help drive revenue growth and expand our customer base. You will have strong understanding of the sales and marketing process, excelling at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with strong negotiating skills, and the ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. Often tasked with giving presentations and product demonstrations, it’s essential that the candidate is personable and professional.

You will document feedback received from Clients to help us build future capabilities. You will need to gain a strong understanding of the product to answer all questions including those that are technical in nature.

Previous startup experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Product Understanding and Delivery:

Learn the MVP product as it stands today to represent our company’s product and services to existing and potential clients. Obtain a deep and comprehensive understanding of our offerings and conduct market research to identify how our solutions meet needs. Prepare for and do hands-on demos of our product to potential clients. Collect the voice of the customer and other feedback. Evaluate feedback and provide input to future capability development. Play an integral role in the future success of the company and help it achieve unicorn status

Develop and Execute Sales and Marketing Strategies:

Create and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with the company's vision and goals. Drive revenue growth by identifying new market opportunities, segments, and channels. Generate leads and build relationships by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential clients. Adjust sales and marketing strategies based on interactions and results in the field.

Customer Acquisition and Retention:

Develop and execute customer acquisition plans to expand our user base. Implement strategies to increase customer retention and maximize lifetime value.

Brand Development and Positioning:

Define and refine the company's brand identity, messaging, and positioning in the market. Ensure brand consistency across all channels and touchpoints.

Go-to-Market Planning:

Collaborate with product and development teams to plan and execute successful product launches. Develop Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies for new features and offerings.

Market Research and Competitive Analysis:

Conduct market research to stay ahead of industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape. Utilize insights to inform product development and marketing strategies.

Performance Metrics and Reporting:

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts. Provide regular reports and insights to the leadership team.

Requirements:

+ BA/BS University degree with a concentration in marketing & sales, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration preferred

+ Proven track record of at least 3-5 years in sales and marketing leadership roles, preferably in SaaS or technology-driven startups.

+ Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and expanding customer bases in the B2B or small business sector.

+ Deep understanding of modern marketing techniques, digital marketing, and customer acquisition strategies.

+ Ability to quickly come up to speed with existing product to make meaningful contributions from day 1.

Compensation:

Equity: 2% equity in the product
