Head of Software Development

Job description

We are an emerging startup and our core product is a social media platform designed to connect organization administrators to their members or users. Much of the groundwork has been completed, so we are looking to grow our founding team and bring in someone with a technical skillset to continue the development of the product.

We are seeking a talented technical Head of Software Development to join our team. As the head, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the product, resolving current issues and will be instrumental in bringing our vision to life. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the technical direction of the company, and to make a meaningful impact on its success.

Previous startup experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

+ Learn the MVP product as it exists today to become a hands on lead of the product development team + Assess feedback and recommendation provided by alpha and beta testers for alignment with long term strategic vision and implement specific recommendations + Resolve issues identified by alpha and beta testers to ensure continued adoption + Implement new features that have been identified as Phase 2 and 3 of our product roadmap

+ Resolve issues and implement new feaures with new code that you will write. You are not expected to delegate software development to other developers. Your core skill set is full stack web and mobile software development. + Collaborate with other co-founders to set the product roadmap and strategic direction of the company + Play an integral role in the future success of the company and help it achieve unicorn status + Partner with other co-founders to raise seed funding for the company from multiple sources

Requirements:

+ Solid hands-on experience in full-stack web and mobile software development, cloud hosting and integration with other software services. + Expert in Typescript, React, PostgreSQL, node.js, React Native, AWS, SendGrid, Stripe + Ability to quickly come up to speed with existing code to make meaningful contributions from day 1. + Strong technical leadership and management skills + Excellent problem-solving skills + Strong communication and collaboration skills + Passionate about building a company that can make a difference + Previous start-up experience preferred + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

Compensation:

Equity: 2% equity in the product
